How to remind clients about plugin renewals before they get charged for tools they no longer use
Annual plugin renewals have a habit of sneaking up. Clients get charged for a license they forgot about, come to you asking what it’s for, and suddenly you’re explaining why their site still needs it – or worse, why it doesn’t anymore.
ToggleWP’s Reminders module gives you a simple way to track renewals and send automated email alerts before the date arrives.
Setting up a plugin / service renewal reminder
- Enable the Reminders module.
- Go to the Reminders Dashboard → New Reminder and create a reminder for the plugin, domain, or service.
- Set the renewal date and configure notifications. You can set a reminder X days before the due date.
- Add your client’s email (and CC yourself) so both parties are informed.
When the date approaches, ToggleWP sends the alert automatically via cron – no manual chasing required.

The renewal lifecycle
Once a reminder fires, you can mark it as Renewed or Cancel & Close directly from the dashboard. This closes the loop and keeps your activity log accurate rather than leaving old reminders floating around as noise.
Portfolio-level visibility
If you run multiple client sites with Site Sync, the hub (parent site) gives you a Portfolio dashboard showing upcoming renewals across all connected clients in one place – including sites with renewals due in the next 30 or 7 days – so you’re not logging into each client site individually.

A configurable dashboard widget shows upcoming renewals at a glance every time you log in. You decide how many items to display (1–100).
