Each “quick fix” for a client interrupts your usual workflow, which can have a larger knock-on effect over time when multiple clients are involved. Sometimes the best approach isn’t to restrict clients, but to stay informed about what they’re doing so you can respond quickly when needed.
Automatic Notification System
ToggleWP automatically monitors plugin activity to keep you informed:
- Activation Alerts: You’ll receive email notifications whenever any plugin is activated on client sites, helping you spot potential security risks or compatibility issues before they cause problems
- Deactivation Monitoring: You’ll get instant email alerts when one is deactivated, including who made the change and when
Built-in Security Screening
All plugin activation emails include automatic security screening. When plugins are installed from non-WordPress.org sources you’ll receive additional information highlighting this. This isn’t because they’re inherently insecure, but because they haven’t been initially reviewed by the WordPress plugin review team – giving you a heads-up to investigate further.
How to Set Up Activation / Deactivation Monitoring
- Go to ToggleWP > Manage. Enable the “Plugin Control” option in the Admin panel.
- Swap to the new “Plugin Control” tab at the top.
- Scroll down to find the “Plugin Activation Emails” and “Plugin Deactivation Emails” options, check them both.
- Click the “Save Plugin Control Settings” at the bottom
