Hi, I’m Dave.
I’ve been in the IT industry since 2005, and had provided freelance support for a small creative agency for 10+ years. At the start of 2022 I branched out in to WordPress reseller hosting with the plan of building a lifestyle business alongside my corporate job.
During 2023 this expanded into small website builds for businesses across the UK, along with technical website audits via my custom Website Toolkit service (which was bundled as a value-add for my hosting clients).
As of Q3 2025 I said good bye to 20 years of corporate life and went all-in on freelancer / agency focused services, starting with Administrator Toolkit and its sister plugin Nag Me Not. These, plus many other plugins, joined up to become the foundations of ToggleWP.
Friendly Web Guy a WordPress plugins focused spin off brand, my main WordPress hosting / site build business being Our Web Services Ltd.
Why I created ToggleWP
In early 2024 I acquired a selection of legacy Divi plugins. This lead to me starting work on Administrator Toolkit (now fully part of ToggleWP).
The seed idea came from fellow site builders commenting on Twitter / X about clients going rogue and deleting their admin user account while still being stuck receiving administration emails. This got me thinking about other hosting provider / maintainer pain points.
Nag Me Not also started life from a similar suggestion, with other freelancers talking about the mess their clients see in their dashboards, often causing confusion or unnecessary support tickets.
Over the last couple of years I created several different plugins, most of which were for the freelancer site builder / maintainer.
After a chat with an agency owner I decided to bring them together to form ToggleWP, a modular plugin that offers loads of benefits for individual site owners, combined with revenue & time saving features for the freelancer / agency rolling it out to their client sites.
