Content health check: Branded site audits for every client, without the manual work

If you’re managing websites for clients, you already know the feeling. Something breaks quietly – a page throws a 404, a blog post from three years ago links to a product that no longer exists, a YouTube support video was set as private, and nobody notices until a client emails you on a Friday afternoon.

Content Health Check is a new premium module for ToggleWP that turns that reactive scramble into a proactive service you can sell.

What it does

Every time a client publishes or updates content, the Content Health Check modules automatically runs a single-page audit in the background. It checks outbound links, images, performance signals, and more – and if anything looks off, you (or your client) hear about it straight away.

Beyond on-publish checks, you can also schedule full site crawls on a monthly or custom cadence. These cover their entire site – public pages and password-protected content alike – and land in an inbox as a clean, readable email summary. No logging into dashboards, no running reports manually, no chasing clients for credentials.

It’s your brand, not mine

Every report and email your clients receive carries your agency’s identity – not ToggleWP’s. White-label it completely:

  • Agency or freelancer name
  • Tagline / strapline
  • Logo (header and email)
  • Website and help desk URL
  • Brand colours – header background, accent colour, success, warning, and error state colours

Set it once, and every audit that goes out looks like it came from you. Important: Currently emails are sent from central @website-toolkit.co.uk email accounts, but will have your brand name as the sender and reply-to email address.

Full site checks: public and protected

Scheduled crawls work across your whole site, not just the easy bits. Content behind password protection (username + password) is included, so membership sites, client portals, and gated course content get the same level of attention as your public-facing pages.

Results are delivered as a branded email summary – a plain-language overview of what was found, what needs attention, and what can wait. No login required to read it.

Pricing (TBC) – and why early adoption matters

Content Health Check is a separate service from the main ToggleWP plugin. It runs on dedicated infrastructure, not from your WordPress hosting, and is priced accordingly:

  • One-time setup fee to configure your branded environment
  • Monthly subscription covering your URL check allowance (on-demand & scheduled)
  • Allowance scales with the number of sites and pages you’re monitoring

Early adopters receive a discounted rate locked in for as long as they remain subscribed.

Who it’s for

Content Health Check is built for agencies and freelancers who manage multiple client sites and want to turn quality assurance into a line item – something you deliver as part of a retainer, not something you do reactively when something goes wrong.

If you’re already using ToggleWP for maintenance, you’re most of the way there.

Content Health Check is currently in early access. Get in touch (via my Friendly Web Guy site) to join the waiting list and lock in your early adopter rate.
